Did you know that you never have to turn off the darkness? The darkness is not the problem, it is the absence of light, and the only way darkness prevails is when the light is turned off. The light in you should be a fire within that pierces the darkness. Are you ready to stand and choose to let your light shine?
I have always liked the “lighthouse” as a symbol of Jesus. His light penetrates the deepest darkness, bold, steady, strong and guiding safely to the shore bringing security to the weary travelers.
“I’ve set you up as a light to the nations you’ll proclaim salvation to the four winds and the seven seas” Isaiah 49:6
How can we be this way: It is written as we turn to the Lord –we can be mirrors that reflect the Glory of the Lord and the spirit will work within us as we become more and more like him and reflect his glory.
We will draw all peoples not to us but to the one who has saved us. Proof of our ownership is covered by the love divine; the Lord has deposited his spirit in our hearts having believed we are marked, guarantying our inheritance. He says you are mine how then can we not let the light of the Lord shine in us.
The light of your glance awakens the joy in my soul.
Your words inspire the song in my heart
And no one else satisfies, the second the eyes
Of my heart saw the light, you have been …
All day long my delight;
Your love warms me when I am cold …
The breath of your spirit makes me bold.
You reign in the grandest times and in my darkest hour.
And in the garden of my tears you bring me flowers.
In your presence I hear the sweet music in my heart,
And the song will never die … even by chance.
On the stars in heaven … we will dance.
My prayer is: In the morning O Lord, hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation. Keep me in a “listening place” to hear you speak all day.
Today go out and move in faith and pierce the darkness and let the light shine.
