Good morning, today is the day the Lord has made let us Rejoice in it.
The Lord has given me so many thoughts I want to write about: identity, speech/thought, obedience, maturity. All these things in of themselves are important and at the same time are inter-connected. Jesus said (paraphrase) In this world you will have troubles but be of good cheer I have overcome the world. John 16:33. We cannot be overcomers unless we have struggles to deal with and that comes with maturity which comes with knowing our identity in the one who has overcome.
Last week in Bible study, we learned that we are seated in heavenly places with Christ who sits at the right hand of the father. A visual was given on Identity; what does it look like to be in the image and likeness of Christ. In Revelation 4:4 there is a picture of 24 elders on their thrones and in the middle was the Throne of God, they are dressed in white robes and with a golden crown on their heads. Among other things, this speaks of authority, righteousness, and royalty. Jesus resurrection was not just about our salvation it was to enable us by Holy Spirit to live in the present in our true identity; to carry ourselves-to walk in authority, righteousness peace and joy. Everywhere we walk we carry the Light within us and the enemy must step back. The enemy stepping back is determined by how much knowledge, the belief of this revelation we must have to live this out.
This is where maturity comes: how we respond to the troubles that come our way. It is a process if we do not give up, we will see situations work out in ways we could not have imagined. We will see that we have come a long way in our walk and our peace comes from being in the secret place and being in the presence of the Lord.
If we don’t know what to do when your relational circuits are overwhelmed and “pressing in” seems more than you can handle there are choices, you can still make:
- choose to forgive – Colossians 3:13
- choose to be obedient to God – Romans 1:5
- choose to renew your mind – Romans 12:2
- choose to leave the past behind – Isaiah 43:18-19
- choose to take responsibility for your thoughts – 2 Corinthians 10:5
- choose to not give the devil an open-door – James 4:7
- choose to not settle for less – Isaiah 55:2
- choose to quote scripture – 2 Timothy 3:16
- choose to not dwell on the problem but on the problem solver – Philippians 4:8
As you go into your secret place with the Lord, listen for the whispers of the Father’s heart, this is what I heard today:
Don’t let the noise of the world extinguish my sound. I will fill your heart with the sound of divine music. To me you are a beautiful song, for your life is a sweet melody that I am composing. I will take your fears, your failures, your tears and your triumphs, and victories and turn it into a glorious harmony.
Align yourself with My Spirit throughout your day. I will make your life an irresistible melody that will linger like a sweet fragrance in the hearts of the people you meet. As you walk in surrender, you will draw others to Me in a joyous Sound of Praise.
Remember you have been made in the image and likeness of God. This means that you carry His qualities to do His work and these qualities are symbols of His presence to act on His behalf as His ambassadors. So, we carry the essence and substance of God wherever we go.
When you hear you are made in the image and likeness of God what do you think it means? Now go out this week and believe that you are made in the image and likeness of God and act like it!
