Dance

Morning Declaration:   My heart has heard you whisper, “Come and talk with me.” And my heart responds, “Lord, I am coming!” Psalm 27:7-8

I remember reading that doing God’s will is a lot like dancing. When you dance with the world, at first it is ok, but nothing ever feels right, the movement doesn’t flow with the music, there is no joy, trying to dance on your own and everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky.

When you realize that the world leaves you lonely and wanting more, and you want to let the LORD do the leading, now the dance begins to flow with the music. The Lord gives a gentle cue, perhaps with a nudge to the back or by directing lightly in one direction or another. It’s two becoming one, moving beautifully the dance takes surrender, willingness, and attentiveness from one person and gentle guidance and skill from the other.

In surrender, I lowered my head, longing to listen to the whispers of the Father’s heart: I am willing to trust that I will get direction about my life. Once again, I become willing to let God lead me on. “be filled with JOY whether you dance, sing, laugh; let your joy pour out to others to cover them. Remember this is a weapon of warfare for the enemy can’t stand our unity of delight.”

My prayer for you today is that you would know God’s blessings and mercies on this day and every day. May you live in life-union with the Creator and his words. Dance with God, trusting him to lead and to guide you through each season of your life. And I hope you joyfully dance with the lover of your soul in the presence of your enemies.
